I’m the owner/operator of Embrace Yourself Wellness, which provides virtual wellness coaching and education services to individuals and families around the world so that they can experience a fuller, healthier life today.

I began in healthcare in 2004 when on the technical side of the spectrum working for medical billing and data authentication for hospitals around the US and eventually went into the service industry as a personal trainer and massage therapist. However, there were some aspects of those professions that often went unanswered. Ultimately causing me to seek out higher education. After enrolling in a doctorate program seeking my answers, I became seriously ill, and no one had a solution for the possible cause. From personal experience, I can tell you that not having coordination, having the inability to walk straight and losing control of your ligaments is no fun. They titled the challenges via many medical terms and added idiopathically occurring, which means no known reason, and left me to sort the issues. Once I was able to tape myself back together enough, I began to dig into the sciences of exercise, meditation, and movement, eventually earning my Masters in Science.

Eventually, after years of studying under some of the best teachers I could find in eastern medicine I have been able to make a recovery which has allowed me to live a fulfilling and satisfying quality of life helping people just like you live a healthier and more mindful life.

My favorite part of having a virtual business is the flexibility it gives me because it allows me to work from anywhere and with anyone in the world. Also, learning the customs and lingo from around the globe can be a lot of fun!

When I’m not working with clients or building content, I like to hike, meditate and spend time with my family, my significantly large Maine Coon cat who is now 3.25 feet long and about 16.5 pounds. (I didn't know she would be this big, but I did hope she would eventually stop growing.)

Lastly, I'd like you to consider three things that could set you up for success today. The first is to learn what makes you happy. That means to approach life with playful curiosity as much as possible. It can be hard for you as an individual to get out of the rat race, but when you are playful and curious, you will be able to open doors that you didn't know existed. The second would be learning to take a step back. Learning to take a step back from emotions, situations or even relationships will give you a better view and allow you to have space to respond instead of reacting. Lastly, remember that you are the one who was born and you are the one who will die, so cherish every moment along the ride of life. At the end of the day you cannot take anything with you but the memories you have made. My life has been a very interesting one. Having to learn mechanics to make life simpler has been a challenge, but as I have developed over the years I have found some guiding principles to help me keep moving forward and they are based on the warriors code. Understanding that what you stand for in your life is really the driving factor in what you strive for is key to success, energy, focus and truth. I've been ill and near total dysfunction too many times in my life, and now it is time to give back to the world. Here are the principles my business and life are built around.

The Seven Principles Of Bushido

1. Right Action- Doing what is just without regard to consequence. (Correct judgment or procedure for the resolution of righteousness.)

2. Courage- Having the inner strength to stand for what is right.

3. Benevolence- Having a kind disposition that reflects love and affection for others. “Benevolence brings under its sway whatever hinder its power, just as water subdues fire.”

4. Respect- Being polite and courteous to others. “In its highest form politeness approaches love.”

5. Truthfulness- Having integrity in word and action while following the Law of the Universe.

6. Honor- Enjoying a reputation for ethical conduct. “Dishonor is like a scar on a tree which time, instead of effacing only helps to enlarge.”

7. Loyalty- Faithful allegiance.

Along the path of discovery I have found that there are some key principles to overall health and well being and they have helped me shape the way I live and the people I work with daily.

Lastly, I discovered through my training that we essentially have 3 minds of being, focus, and presence. These aspects help us understand, unlock and flow much more easily no matter what challenges you were born with in your life.

3 Minds

1. Zan Shin is translated as ‘Remaining Spirit’ and refers to a vigilant, all-encompassing awareness. Zanshin is being fully present in the here and now. The mind is fully aware of its surroundings and in a state of ever-readiness – unattached, yet present to the task at hand.

2. Mu Shin means ‘Mind Without Mind,’ or the state of No Mind. Mu Shin is a state of spontaneity that allows immediate action without conscious thought. “Mu” means “emptiness.” The mind is empty in the sense that it is void of fear, anger, worries and various other preoccupations. The absence of these distractions creates the space for an increased awareness and clarity. Mushin is sometimes referred to as “the zone,” – a relaxed state of peak performance.

3. Fu Do Shin is the ‘Immovable Mind.’ It is the mind that has met all challenges of life, and has attained a state of complete composure. This state of mind cannot easily be disturbed by confusion, anger, doubt, or fear. It is the calm in the center of the storm.
